Athletes who are interested in doing trampoline as a competitive sport usually begin by competing in the National Australian Levels stream. There are currently 10 competitive levels which cover athletes from complete beginners (Level 1) to aspiring Olympic Trampolinists (Level 10). Competitions for the levels stream run both in WA and interstate.
Once an athlete reaches or exceeds the level which corresponds to their age (a minimum standard set by the Australian Trampoline Sports Commission) they are eligible to compete in the Age division. At the Age competitions athletes try to achieve scores which will allow them to become WA state representatives so they can represent WA at the Australian National Championships.
To maintain a sufficient standard of competitiveness and to allow enough training time for progression Peak recommends that a competitor in this division commit to a minimum of four trainings per week.
Access to these classes is subject to selection so if you are interested in joining the age squad then please approach your current coach to discuss this further.
