Tumbling gives athletes the opportunity to improve fundamental gymnastics and tumbling skills. Tumbling improves strength, flexibility, balance, co-ordination and general physical fitness. Peak provides a development pathway from beginners to a National level. Peak is proud to say we have current State and National champions in Tumbling.
Recreation Tumbling
This class involves fundamental tumbling skill development for beginner athletes of all ages. Athletes at this level will learn the basics of tumbling. The skill progression starts at handstands and cartwheels and progresses to round-offs and backflips. This is done in the form of circuits using our 25m tumble track, short track, double mini trampoline and airbag connected to the trampoline, as well as numerous accessories.
Development Tumbling
When an athlete has demonstrated the ability to sequence a series of movements including round off and back handspring they will be moved into this session. This also demonstrates the athlete has the intention to compete for Peak Trampoline in local competitions.
Squad Tumbling
When an athlete has increased their skill set they can be moved into the squad tumbling sessions, which is a pathway towards qualification for the State Team.
The equipment we use at Peak includes:
• 25m air track tumble track with 4 m run up
• 10 m air tumble track with adjoining DMT
• Trampoline and air bag are used for progression and extension drills
